UK bankrolls communities on the ocean’s front line with £13.9 million investment

UK Marine Minister Emma Hardy announced £13.9 million in funding at the 11th Our Ocean Conference in Mombasa, Kenya. The investment, channeled through the Blue Planet Fund, will support three programs: PROBLUE (£6.7m), ORRAA (£2.2m), and GPAP (£5m). In São Tomé and Príncipe, the funding will reduce flood risk for 800 households and support 2,000 people through job-focused interventions. Every dollar of PROBLUE funding has unlocked over three dollars in wider World Bank investment.
