Thai Princess Bajrakitiyabha dies at 47 after three years in coma

Princess Bajrakitiyabha Mahidol of Thailand, aged 47, died Thursday evening at a hospital in Bangkok after three years in a coma. The eldest of King Maha Vajiralongkorn's seven children, she was popular for her public service and justice reform projects, notably the Kamlangjai campaign that rehabilitated imprisoned women. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul praised her memory, calling her a pride of Thailand. A recent constitutional change could have made her the country's first traditional female ruler.
