2027 Budget to Be Ready Before End of December, FG Says

Minister of State for Budget Doris Uzoka-Anite said the Federal Government plans to present the 2027 budget before the end of 2026. The schedule is intended to give the National Assembly time to review revenue projections and spending priorities before the new fiscal year begins. The Federal Executive Council also approved the revised 2026 national food and nutrition policy and the National Nutrition Bill 2026, which will be sent to the National Assembly.

2027: No reason to fear election postponement, says SDP

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) says there is no credible reason to fear that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will postpone the 2027 general elections, scheduled for January 16.
