Cameroon has banned the export of 15 new species in logs, bringing the total to 91, according to a decree by the Minister of Forests and Wildlife, Jules Doret Ndongo, dated April 28, 2026. 23 species remain allowed under the 'promotional species' regime, subject to a surcharge on unprocessed forest products. This decision is part of a regional framework, with Cemac states and the DRC agreeing to a gradual ban on log exports by January 1, 2028.
