Democrats and Trump Hold Final Rallies Before Midterm Elections

Donald Trump and Republicans made their final appeals to voters ahead of the midterm elections as polls pointed to a possible Democratic wave. Trump planned a speech near the Lincoln Memorial, while Democratic candidates James Talarico in Texas and Adam Hamilton in Kansas held closing rallies. Democrats could retake the House and are also competing for the Senate, which would give them control over the budget and the power to investigate the Trump administration. The campaign has featured sharp internal divisions, including Michigan Democrat Haley Stevens’s endorsement of Republican Mike Rogers against Abdul El-Sayed in the Senate race.
