CAF appoints Nigeria’s Samson Adamu as General Secretary

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Nigerian Samson Adamu as its General Secretary following a competitive recruitment process. Adamu had served in the role on an acting basis since March, after Veron Mosengo-Omba resigned, and has worked at CAF since 2018 as Director of Competitions and later Director of Tournaments and Events. He helped deliver several major continental competitions, including the Africa Cup of Nations, and is expected to oversee CAF’s day-to-day administration and support its strategic priorities.
