Electricity: 'Our freezers now freezing' - Power Minister says Nigerians begging him to slow down

Power Minister Joseph Tegbe stated that some Nigerians have asked him to 'slow down' the improvements in electricity as their freezers are now continuously running. Speaking at the commissioning of a 3-megawatt solar hybrid power project at the University of Abuja, he noted that areas without power for three months are now receiving 18 hours of electricity daily. Tegbe also raised concerns about vandalism of critical electricity infrastructure, disclosing that three major transmission towers in Birnin Kebbi had been brought down by vandals.
