Hakimi's record: “Don't lie, guys,” Meunier sets the record straight

Achraf Hakimi scored a hat-trick, including a free kick, and provided two assists as PSG beat Le Havre 5-1 on Friday in the ninth round of Ligue 1. Actu Foot Maroc called him the first defender to record five goal contributions in a match, but Thomas Meunier disputed the claim, saying he had achieved something similar. Actu Foot Maroc replied that Meunier had played as a right wing-back for Belgium’s U17s against Gibraltar. Stats Foot clarified that Hakimi is the only defender to have been involved in five goals in a match across Europe’s five major leagues over the past ten seasons.
